Set in New York City, Project Love and Film follows Maeve Sullivan and Declan Quinn, two rival student directors who are forced to work together on their biggest film project yet. Maeve believes every story needs heart, while Declan believes everything works better with a plan. When their completely opposite ideas of filmmaking collide, so does everything they thought they knew about each other.

Maeve Sullivan has always dreamed of becoming a director. She knows what kind of stories she wants to tell, how she wants them to feel, and exactly how much she dislikes Declan Quinn. He is talented, arrogant, frustratingly calm, and somehow always one step ahead of her. What she doesn't expect is to be paired with him for their Valentine's Day film project, forcing them to spend more time together than either of them can stand.

Everything changes when one of their heated arguments is accidentally recorded and spreads around school, turning the two biggest rivals into New York's newest “couple.” With everyone watching them and their film project at risk, Maeve and Declan agree to fake date until the rumors die down. What starts with staged dates, fake smiles, and pretending to fall for each other slowly becomes something neither of them knows how to stop.

The film quickly becomes the least of their problems. With every late-night shoot, stolen glance, and moment that feels far too real, Maeve begins questioning where their performance ends and their feelings begin. And Declan, who has always believed every story needs an ending, starts to realize that maybe the best part of theirs was never written into the script.
